Yes.Yes. and Yes!  Back to blogging seniors icon smile Monmouth Academy | Class of 2013: Sara  Well, one for now anyway.

I had such a great afternoon meeting Sara and her mom, especially when it came to that perfect golden light from the setting sun. Oh, and one of my favorite go-to locations to top it all off! Sara is super photogenic and completely willing to pose however, try new things and yes climb on pretty much anything. Fearless and fierce. You will go a long way in this world, my dear…and I wish you the best of luck with all of it<3

Adrien: 9 months

September 18, 2012

I have been photographing Adrien every three months since he was born and there is no question that he gets cuter every single session we have!  And this session…..he finally, FINALLY gave me some full-on smiles:) I am talking all out belly laughs and grins so big his eyeballs disappear. There is no way to get through this blog post without smiling back at him.  Go ahead. Try it. I dare you:)

It seems that in my personal life I have been given nothing but bad news lately.  Amazingly, it has not even come close to throwing me into a heavy emotional whirlwind…and there is no doubt in my mind that that is thanks in part to the opportunity to work with such amazing seniors this season!

Earlier this week, I met up with Heidi and her family. Now, when I say family I mean it. Mom, Dad, brother and their two dogs. Mom was there ’cause well, that’s what moms do. Brother was there to hop in a shot or two, as Heidi had done the same for his senior session. And dad was there to help wrangle in the dogs. The cutest (and chubbiest) labs <3 Thanks to each and every one of you for a really fun session. It was great meeting you all:)

I was so lucky to have Kayla as one of my senior reps this year. She is such a “real” person. She has her own unique style, stays true to who she is and is one of the sweetest girls I have ever met.

During our final session, I also learned that she is a terrible speller…which meant that this shot HAD to be taken. And while most teenage girls would’ve rolled their eyes at mom dishing out her secret, Kayla giggles and admits that she didn’t know there was an “o” is serious:) I love this girl!

Since Kayla’s first session was at the beach earlier this spring, it was only fitting that we chose a location that was pretty much a 180 degree turn from the ocean. I am pretty sure there isn’t a location in this world that I couldn’t photograph this girl in though….she is too stinkin’ cute!

But you wanna know the real reason why we chose this location? Graffiti. Yep, Kayla’s request and I had the perfect fit for her. No worries, that can of spray paint in her hand…promise, it was only a prop. This gorgeous wall was someone else’s handiwork….and well, it was perfect:)

Kayla, I hope you have a blast your senior year. You have been so much fun to work with and I only wish you the brightest and most colorful of futures <3

While Labor Day is a holiday where most people who “labor” every day take the day off to do anything but “labor.” And my plans for this year’s Labor Day were to shoot another senior. Lucky for me, Reneigh suggested a location I had never shot at and was so much fun that it didn’t feel like work at all!

After getting up while it was still dark out and driving all the way to Portland praying for the weather to clear, the morning turned out beautifully and I could not have asked for a better bunch to meet and spend a couple hours with as Reneigh’s dad and stepmom were just as wonderful as she is. Reneigh, I hope you have the most amazing senior year and I am so grateful to have met you and your simply adorable personality:) P.S. Did you notice? No “11′s” !

There is a saying in New England that if you don’t like the weather, just wait fifteen minutes.  And while it was a little more than fifteen minutes between sessions, it is hard to believe that it rained all through Kearsten’s session and that afternoon Courtney’s session looked like this.

And just like with Kearsten, if Courtney looks familiar she was another one of my reps this year:) For her final session she asked if we could include her boyfriend in the shots, and well since I have heard all about him I couldn’t say no. I had to meet him. Not only is Keenan a sweet guy and a great match for Court, he is also very handy when it comes to holding reflectors and demonstrating poses:)

Courtney, it was great catching up with you once again. You are an amazing girl with a focus that many your age have yet to perfect. Make this year worth every memory and may your drive to succeed take you beyond your wildest dreams <3

I had every intention of getting this sneak peek up yesterday, but as it often does…life had other plans for me. Between a doctor’s appointment I had put off for too long, my littlest heading off to her first day of preschool, cheering practice and finally the littlest so overstimulated that she simply would not go to bed, it would have been a miracle if I were able to squeeze this in. So let’s get on with it.

This past Sunday morning, Kearsten and her mom met at my house so we could all ride together (super super early) to explore a fun coastal location for Kearsten’s final session with me. And yes, if you recognize her, it is because she is one of my amazing rep’s this year:)  Now that I say “final session” that is a little bit of a lie, since we fought a mix of sprinkling rain with full-on downpours all morning. With naturally curly hair that was so beautifully straightened when we began, the humidity was no match for Kearsten by the end of the shoot. Nonetheless, we will be adding a few more to this group later on in the week. In the meantime, here are a few favorites from Sunday morning.

Kearsten, thanks for being a great sport and an amazing rep!  I hope you love these and I am looking forward to getting you back in front of the camera one last time:) Most importantly, I am so grateful that I have come to know the sweet and outgoing young lady you are over the past year.

I hope everyone is ready for fall…and a whole bunch of seniors. ‘Cause seniors is pretty much all you’re gonna find on this blog for the rest of the week and then some:)

After I shot Dalton’s senior session almost two years ago, I was really looking forward to hanging out with his younger brother, Brody. There is no denying that the two are brothers and I am not even talking about looks. While Brody and I chatted (and hiked) during his senior session, it didn’t take long to know that these boys have been raised right. Hardworking, kind, polite, beautiful blue eyes and seriously infectious smiles. No really, go ahead and try NOT smiling back at this face;)

Brody, thanks for an awesome session! I wouldn’t mind one bit if my own son grew up to be just a little like you icon smile Winslow High School | Class of 2013: Brody  Have an amazing senior year and good luck at Orono!

I was so happy to finally finally finally get this family session in the books and shot. It had only been planned for something like two years after all! And while the entire plan was to include all of Dawn and Harry’s beautiful children and grandchildren, reality was that not everyone was able to make their schedules work. So since we had so much craziness in scheduling this year, there is already a plan set i place to make sure the full full session happens next summer when EVERYONE can be there:)

In the meantime, these lovelies are destined to be hanging in frames very very soon!

Exactly one month ago today, as I posted Reid’s newborn session I just knew that his family session would be even more fun:) But before I share with you all the mushy gushy love that the Strout family brings to the blog, I have to share something. Just two days after little Reid’s newborn session, he began a 14 day stay in the NICU. He had contracted a virus and was very sick to the point of even experiencing encephalitis. Thankfully, he is back in his family’s arms where he belongs with a long happy life ahead of him.

Now, I shared all that to say this…in this family their love is evident. They love each other with every bit of their souls and cherish every victory big and small. What is more, they have the pictures to prove it. So no matter where you are in your life, the time to make your memories last forever is now.

Okay, now that all the sentiments have been made…meet the Strouts:)
