Tracy: TrashTheDress

September 30, 2011

Tracy first contact me a whole year ago to schedule her TTD session, and we finally got to shoot it just a couple weeks ago!  Now, every gal is different when it comes to how much they actually want to trash the dress and I went into the session not really sure how far Tracy wanted to go.

Before we really got things messy, she asked for a few shots with her hubs and the girls. Of course, I was going to give her what she wanted:)

So, these girls are freaking adorable….but let’s get to the really fun stuff, shall we?

I love, love, love Trash the Dress sessions, and when I spotted the four-wheeler in Tracy’s yard, I just had two questions. #1. Does it run? #2. Where’s the mud?

Tracy seriously became my bff for the day:)

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part two)

Ha!  Betchya didn’t think you would see part two so soonm huh?!  I have an asgoodascanbeexpected (maybe better) three year old today, so progress it is;)

Kristin and Bennett’s ceremony took place on the pier at The Contented Sole. Gorgeous day. Gorgeous location. Oh, and Gorgeous flowers from Hopkins.

Kristin had one specific image she knew she wanted. A shot of Benn as he saw his bride for the first time.  Here ya go <3

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part two)

This was defniitely one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have been asked to photograph, and I just love the look on the officiant’s face during the kiss!

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part two)

As guests entered the Contented Sole following the ceremony, they were greeted with this amazing display that would lead them right to their table.

And speaking of amazing things… Bennett really wanted cheesecake for their wedding cake. Well, ask and Heavenly Delights shall deliver. Check out the little mr and mrs starfish toppers:)

So much sweetness everywhere!

Alright, so the walk has been walked, the kiss has been kissed, the first dance has been danced and the cake has been cut…It’s time to break out the cigars and drinks in cute little jars and get the celebration started.

Almost forgot to share these fantastic favor treats!

Kristin and Bennett, thank you for asking me to capture your special day.  Congratulations again and may you live happily ever after <3

My original plan was to do this wedding in one post, but there are just too many faves I wanted to share!  So let me break this down for ya:)

Kristin and Bennett spend a lot of time on the coast, so it was only natural that they plan their wedding to include lots of coastal details.  And it only took a short look around Krisi’s parents’ rental camp to decide exactly how I wanted to shoot the rings….

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part one)

After a few morning details were captured, it was time to start prepping for the day.  Over in the girls camp, the cutest little flower girl began studying and training to do her job just perfectly…..um, maybe a little too perfectly…

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part one)

And in the guy’s camp, Bennett was busy crawling under the porch in search of golf balls…..

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part one)

…and yeah, the boys had no problem filling their morning with all sorts of shenanigans.

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part one)

While all that craziness was going on, Kristin let the pampering begin as she quietly memorized her vows.

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part one)

How adorable is it that both Kristin and Bennett use the same method when trying to memorize something?

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part one)

Finally, the boys got down to some serious tie-business….

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part one)

…and Kristin slipped into these super cute shoes (those sweet peacock feather clips courtesy of Etsy)!

Kristin + Bennett: happily ever after <3 (part one)

With a few final jewelry touches (Etsy again!) and a gorgeous dress from Madeleine’s Daughter, Kristin’s transformation was complete.

Just a  final safety check and a last minute peek of the vows as the boys hopped on their lobster boat limo to the ceremony….

…and part two of this amazing day will follow soon!

If you are a dedicated Monday silliness viewer, you will know that the inspiration for Monday morning smiles all started with my “sweet” nephew, Julian as he dug for some treasures on the beach here. Well, this summer Julian and his new baby sister visited Maine again and Miss haven was baptized while they were here (more to come on that later). Other than photographing her baptism, we had a mini-session that (of course) resulted in some silliness.

So here you are…J reverting to his original and now classic silly….

…and Miss Haven proving that she can make some silly faces too:)

Thought I would jump on and do a quick Monday sillies post for you before I head out to deliver a gift certificate to one of my favorite clients:)

After almost a year of planning, yesterday I was finally able to meet up with Tracy for her Trash the Dress session. It was awesome…but you will have to wait just a bit longer for that peek. Before we got Tracy too muddy, I snagged a few family shots and some individuals of her girls. As soon as Miss Lena demonstrated her “Chucky-face” I knew it landed itself a place on a silliness feature.

Happy Monday! Lena’s heeeeerrrreeee!! icon smile Monday sillies: heres chucky?

Since I am meeting with Miss Kate this morning and getting ready to shoot her gorgeaous wedding tomorrow, I figure its about time I get her peek up on the blog:)  And I have to say that this family/dog/e-session has got to be one of my favorites!

The last time I shot this family, Gianni was just a few months old.  He is turning into quite the little heartbreaker.  Check out those eyes and his gorgeous curly hair <3

When Kate was scheduling this session, there was one thing she really wanted to include. Well, four actually. Their dogs. Yes, all four of them. So we headed to the gorgeous field behind her sister’s house and let them loose. Well, after wrangling them for one real family shot.

These are seriously some of the happiest dogs I have ever met. I mean seriously, they are smiling!!

Here’s Lady….and Tyler….

and Elvis….and Lucy. (Elvis is the only boy and also the oldest, so smiles don’t come quite as easy for him)

During this session, we took a little time to explore the farm on the far end of the field. We found some big things and some small things…

…and an amazing antique couch that was pefect for pictures!

Love Gianni sneaking his way into e-session images…

Kate, Chad and Gianni…I am so very excited to spend your amazing day with you tomorrow. You are a beautiful family inside and out and it shows in everything you do.

As a photographer who is still a bit new to the business, imagine my complete surprise when I was contacted earlier in the summer by Michael. Really, you live in Ohio? And you want ME to photograph your family while you are vacationing in Ogunquit?!  Totally flattered and of course I was going to do it:)

Many of the families I photograph, I have met in person somewhere in life before. Not this one. But it didin’t matter.  Every single one of these people are just as sweet as can be and I am honored to have been asked to capture a few memories and to get to know just a little part of who they are.

 Michael + Susan + Sam + Matt + Emma + Ben: a family affair

Sam is the oldest and is very strongwilled. For a teenager, he really has a great sense of exactly who he is and what he wants out of life.

 Michael + Susan + Sam + Matt + Emma + Ben: a family affair

Matt is definitely more of a free spirit. Not only is he also comfortable in his own skin, but he has a very easy going sense about him that emanates to those around him.

And then there are the twins. Emma…

..and Ben.

 Michael + Susan + Sam + Matt + Emma + Ben: a family affair

As a girl who grew up with three sisters, I envy Emma to a point with all those brothers. Her sweetness is just amazing, yet she can definitely hold her own around the boys. And Ben. Ahh. My favorite moment of the session was asking Ben if he knew any good jokes. Without a change in his expression, he tells me he only knows innapropriate jokes. And then as serious as can be: I am not telling you innapropriate jokes. icon smile Michael + Susan + Sam + Matt + Emma + Ben: a family affair

Thank you L family for spending a few hours of your vacation with me. I really enjoyed meeting all of you and hope to see you again next summer.

Oh, and one last thing.  I just HAD to include this last image since we all know how much Sam really wanted to get his feet dirty, hehe icon smile Michael + Susan + Sam + Matt + Emma + Ben: a family affair

A Family Reunion of Sorts

September 6, 2011

I am thinking this week really needs to be spent on getting some overdue sessions posted on the blog.  First up, my July closer. And oh how I adore these families:)

Miss Evelyn has become sort of a celebrity when it comes to the blog/my work.  Need a reminder? Yeah, she was the adorable “head in the hands” baby here.

Is this not one of the most beautiful children you have ever seen?

 A Family Reunion of Sorts

When Ev’s momma, Libby (the teeth-brushing-bridesmaid, hehe) contacted me about this session, she mentioned that it would be a combo family session and they were purposely scheduling around her father-in-law’s schedule so he could have some special memories captured with his grands.  Well, how’s this for special?

A Family Reunion of Sorts A Family Reunion of Sorts

Oh, and if some of thos eother adorable family members look familiar…well they should.  They first appeared here when Graham was just an infant. Seriously, the kids in this family only get cuter as they get bigger!!

Ahhh, it is so easy to be cute when you come from families as beautiful as these <3

 A Family Reunion of Sorts

Oh, one last thing.  There was no way I couldn’t share this since Libby was determined to “copycat” her brother’s session at the fountain at Pinleand Farms. Yep, Ev loved the water just as much as her cousin, Carter:)
